The Dialogue side tables are all about balance, stability and creating a conversation between two contrasting elements within a single piece.

The design of both tables plays with a combination of forms that have entirely different personalities, giving them a very sculptural personality. However, their construction logic is very rational. To allow the tabletop to extend outwards, reaching beyond the footprint of its base, the foundation needs real substance. These bases, with their minimal, angular, square shapes, resemble blocks of wood cut into square pieces, almost as if they had not been sculpted at all. This angularity contrasts sharply with the soft, subtle and elaborate curves of the tabletops.

This dialogue between mass and delicacy, or at least a certain lightness since both parts of the tables are made of solid wood, is also a dialogue between stability and balance. This is even more evident in the smaller side tables, where the tops seem to float. This impression is reinforced by the way they are visually connected to their base, as they seem to rest in a groove without being fully supported. The tabletops give the impression that they are trying to reach for something, much like the tray held by a waiter who is about to serve you in a restaurant.

The dialogue between the two elements is reinforced by the use of contrasting wood finishes. The same rough and textured wood finish developed for the legs of the Edge collection is used for the bases, giving them this deep porous matte finish that resembles charcoal or lava stone when in black. As for the tops, they feature a contrasting smooth finish that also makes them easier to clean.
